Meet Sergio

Sergio Calderon was elected to serve on the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors, where he represent Division 4. Division 4 is composed of the following cities and communities Bell, Bell Gardens, Boyle Heights, Commerce, Compton, Cudahy, East Los Angeles,  Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood,  Montebello, Monterrey Park, Pico Rivera,  South Gate, Walnut Park, Vernon

A seasoned public official, having served as Mayor, Councilmember, City Clerk and Director, Sergio is a working class citizen dedicated to public service. Since 2004, he has worked as a Teacher/Teacher Adviser in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Division of Adult and Career Education (LAUSD-DACE). In this role, he has guided and helped prepare individuals from 18 years of age for college and careers.

In addition, Sergio is also a practicing Practical Nurse. In this role he has helped:

• Individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, live the most independent lives possible, via Adult Residential Facilities. 
• Individuals who required medical surgery through their recovery process, in the hospital setting.
• Supported pediatric and geriatric patients manage their health to avoid hospitalization, via home health.
• Supported various patients and their families through end-stage disease as they transition from this life to the next, via hospice.   

Business acumen, the importance of the bottom-line, and the responsibility of supervising, managing, and training individuals are also matters Sergio has experienced in, as he is the proprietor and operator of CPR Angeles, a company which trains those who we trust (Parents,  Peace Officers, Emergency Medical Services, Child Care Workers, etc.) in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First Aid. 

Sergio Calderon is a member of our community who understands peoples' everyday challenges. He understand because he shares the peoples' experience each and every day.
